Success is really a secret to those of us who don't get it.

But do we know what it is actually? Have you ever spared a moment to think about what success is in your whole lifetime?
I think you have done that, me also. Everyone does that but we find it is different for different people. For a teacher when their students get good marks that is a success because he wanted to teach. For a doctor, when he saves the patient, lives success because that was his dream. For an entrepreneur, success is when he starts his own company because he wanted to do so. So we need to define success if we want to know how to get it. The best definition I found in my life was that success is the progressive attainment of our own unique ideals but only one out of hundreds can make it happen. When we attain our ideals it gives us a feeling of achievement and makes us feel happy and we get the fruits of our efforts. Life gives us various spectrums like sports, academics, love, relationships etc. where we desire to be happy and to do so we need to become successful in that spectrum. So a successful life means success must be in every dimension of it. Then for life, the word success becomes multi-dimensional.
So what's the true measure of success?
As the sense of achievement makes us happy the best measure of success is happiness. However, happiness can not be measured. So common people try to measure it in terms of money because for living a certain amount of money is necessary and compensation for all the work can be converted into it. Then earning money becomes their primary objective. But if we see deeply we are contributing something from the given portion of our finite life and in return, we are getting money. So money actually helps us in sustaining our life and comes after we have successfully done our job. However, even if we measure success in terms of money then even most of the people remained unsuccessful.

If we do a survey taking 100 individuals who start even at the age of 25 do you have any idea what will happen to those men and women by the time they are 60(The age of retirement in most countries)?
These hundred people believe they are going to be successful. They are eager towards life, there is a spark in their eyes, confidence in their smile and life seems like an interesting adventure to them. But by the time they are 60(Even at the age of retirement) only one will be rich, five more individuals would be financially independent, five more hours still be working on becoming financially independent and all the other people will go broke. Only 6 out of hundred make the grade!
Do u know why do so many fail? What has happened to the sparkle that was there when they were 25? What has become to the dreams, the hopes, the desires, the plans of those individuals and why is there such a large disparity between what the people intended to do and what they actually accomplished?
Success then really has a secret that is the same because of which the tortoise won in the race while the rabbit lose even when the rabbit had the advantage of speed. The secret is the same old consistent concentration. If we analyse every case and most importantly our own cases we will find out the cause of the disparity was a distraction or the lack of focus towards our goals.

What is the focus?
Focus or concentration is the centre of our being. Focus is doing something again and again for a prolonged period without getting distracted by otherworldly things. Focus is somewhat like breathing. Have you ever noticed your breathing? If not then notice because we are alive as it's happening patiently and consistently. Nevertheless, we hardly notice what we should notice. We actually do what the 95% of the people are doing because then again we can be lazy like the 95% people and we can be distracted all day and can judge other people for not succeeding but we will be trapped in our temptations and we think we're having fun but we are actually wasting our time and focusing on how to get distracted. That's why most of the people work so hard without entering anything and go broke and then the complaint.
However, some people tend to have the magic touch. Have you ever noticed a successful man tends to become more and more successful?
The difference is only consistent concentration and patience on their goals. People think that successful men are guided by someone. But the truth is they guide themselves to their destination and creates their own destiny by their own hands. A man becomes what he does and doing involves three things thinking, speaking and doing something by our human body. Actually how to become successful is not a secret it was first discovered by some of the earliest men, and it appears throughout history. But very few people have learned it. That's why it's a secret.
But we tend to fall to our various temptations again and again like drinking, watching obnoxious things, smoking or something else and as it is repeated it becomes a habit. These can be termed as our bad habits. So focusing on our goals can be termed as our good habit. So why do we create so many bad habits instead of good habits? Because creating bad habits are easier like watching TV( that will give us glasses for sure) or eating chocolate (that will make our teeth weaker). However good habits are very hard to develop because at first, it doesn't give us the feeling of fake joy as bad habits but will obviously help us in the long run like gardening (where we will learn about various herbs and trees), jogging ( helps to build strong bones as it is a weight-bearing exercise) or yoga(that helps our body and mind both).

So then do you know how to develop habits??
Doing anything every day creates our habits and that also increases our focus on what we are doing. A person who is thinking about a concrete and worthwhile goal and taking action upon that goal is going to reach it because that's what he is thinking about conversely the person who has no goals, who doesn't know where he is going, and whose thoughts must therefore be thoughts of confusion, anxiety, fear and worry will thereby create a life of frustration, fear, anxiety and worry and if he thinks about nothing he becomes nothing. Our mind(In ancient Sanskrit mind is called Manas) is much like a fertile land. We may plant anything in that land whatever we choose. The land doesn't care what we planted. The mind, like the land, will return what you plant, but it doesn't care what you plant. So then let's make a conscious choice from now on and get focused on the necessary things rather than distractions because as you sow so shall you reap. If a farmer sows rice he will be able to eat that when the time comes. But if he sows poisonous plants the land will become poisonous and if he doesn't take care of his lands weeds will grow there spontaneously. It's a natural law that can not be changed. So remember the land(mind) doesn't care. The human mind is even pharma fertile than the land and can do miracles far more incredible than we can ever imagine. The problem is that our mind comes for free at the time of birth. It's free. Things that we pay money for, we value. And the things that are given to us for nothing we place little value on. but we forget if it is hampered even if we pay money it cannot be fixed. So, it's priceless. Most of the things that are worthwhile in life came to us for free. However, the paradox is that most of us don't even know how to use these priceless gifts. But the things that cost less money are actually very cheap and can be replaced at any time. but the things we got from nothing can never be replaced. so decide now.
What is it that makes you happy?
It is the most important decision you will ever make in your entire life and you have to keep on making it. Whatever decision you make focus on what you do. Actually when we are totally focused on something we are totally happy. Now, remember you have nothing to lose but a life to win. Introspection brings clarity to ourselves. At first, introspect yourself and find a clear goal whatever it might be and write it. Then think about it every single day, every single moment and develop a plan to achieve it. Then just focus on it and if you again ever get distracted just return to the basic focal point our own breath and feel it for some time without thinking about anything or just focus on a single point for some time and you will find you are already a step closer to achieve it.
